The Last Days
"The Last Days doubles as a restaurant, and pride themselves with being far enough away from the main shopping street to have a quiet surrounding, but not too far as that one would need to walk a good while to reach a bank." (Salaxian tourist page)
The owner of The Last Days is a shady character who goes by the name Ian Trafford and is rumoured to have several psychopathic tendencies. Perhaps that is why he gets along with his vampiric self and others so well - he was turned into a vampire ages ago, but never left his "proper" job as a barkeeper. Due to his age, however, he's seen many people frequent this bar in his lifetime, people like Dahmer or Giles de Rays(sp?).
From the outside, The Last Days is a gigantic golden dome, made out of a metallic, yet somewhat translucent material that is typically not familiar to the citizens of RavenBlack City. A glitzy sign proclaims “The Last Days” in shimmering, pearly letters and extravagant lettering. It is clearly not the typical pub. A man stands at the door and collects a customary fee of entry, and there are men at every door in the dome who do the same. There is a small lobby in the pub, where the charming coat-check boys offer to take the weight of the heavy coat off your shoulders. The walls are made out of the same semi-translucent material as the dome, and the floor is wood of a deep maple color. Everything has a slight golden hue from the sheen of the walls, and that light gives everything a luxurious, magical feeling.
There are two ways to go from the lobby. One way leads directly to the bar, while the other goes to the lounge. The lounge is carpeted with lush, dark red carpet, and the couches and sofas scream softly with vibrancy. At least five tons of golden glitter went into the decoration of this room. It covers every available surface. The other surfaces are not available because they were already encrusted with jewels, precious seashells from Santraginus (Though the location of Santraginus is definitely lost to the inhabitants of RavenBlack City), gold leaf, mosaic tiles, lizard skins and a million unidentifiable embellishments and decorations. Glass glitters, pearls shine, gold gleams, and the customers goggle. It’s a mind-blowing sight, and one could go on for hours just about a single square inch of the room.
The bar itself, though is not quite as dazzling as the lounge, is still rather astounding. It is a bit darker in tone as the rest of the dome, and is filled with a dozen grotesque fountains. Everything in it is still varying shades of gold, but of a much darker hue, save for the counter, which is coated with gold leaf. All the drinks cost about three times as much as normal, but frequenters don’t mind, as it is a delightful place to lose one’s mind in. The barkeep appears disheveled, his tie askew, a tuft of his hair standing straight up, and a strange dried-blood stain on his button up shirt. He’s a little aloof, and is not interested in whether the customer has two heads, fangs or claws for hands. Nevertheless, the blood at The Last Days is perhaps the best in the city (as it should for the price), and each glass even comes with a complementary golden umbrella with “The Last Days” printed on it in elaborate lettering.
The Last Days is the most lavish pub in all of RavenBlack City, and should be visited by anyone who has the funds to. The fun never ends, even when the day does.
